Peter creates both functional and beautiful ceramic bowls on the wheel. Cari works mainly in slab, producing pieces that find a home in the garden, often as part of another piece created from another medium. She also builds fairy houses from trash for sick children. Most of their ceramics are a collaboration. One them making the piece (often with the help of the other) and they regularly glaze each other’s work or glaze a piece together. Glazing can be a combination of spraying, or dipping, pouring or painting and sometimes glass is introduced as well. Unique artworks often result from first making, then breaking and sanding a piece before firing, to create unusual angels. And sometimes, inspired by the kintsugi tradition, polymers are introduced, resulting in multi-dimensional pieces.
